Counselling is a form of talking therapy that allows you to voice challenges and difficult feelings in a confidential and safe environment. It gives you an opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings in more depth and to review and update your coping mechanism to serve you better.
A counsellor will not tell you what to do. Instead you will be supported and encouraged to uncover the causes of your challenges. Together with your counsellor you will work towards acceptance or change or both, depending on what you bring to the work.
Counselling can be short-term or long-term depending on your needs and goals. If you have any questions or want to find out if counselling could be right for you, just contact us - a 30 minute initial 'getting-to-know' session is free and without obligation.
Counselling sessions (50 mins) cost £60; an initial 30 mins 'getting-to-know' session is free.
We are offering remote counselling via Zoom or by phone. It offers a number of benefits in terms of accessibility. You won't need transport and you can live in a different part of the country. However, remote counselling is not suitable for everyone. Opting for telephone or video (Zoom) counselling differs from face-to-face counselling when it comes to privacy and confidentiality. You will need to prepare differently and consider a few things. When coming to see a counsellor in the counselling room, they can safeguard the privacy and confidentiality of the session. When working remotely, you need to make sure you can ensure privacy, confidentiality and uninterrupted counselling time. Consider carefully if that is possible for you, and how you can arrange for this in the environment you are in.
